KENYA LODGE SAFARI ITINERARY AND PRICE
This safari takes you via Mt. Kenya past coffee plantations to
Samburu Game Reserve noted for the unusual reticulated Giraffe,
Grevy’s Zebra, Gerunuk and Somali ostrich,later to L.Nakuru famous
for its rare species of giraffe, rhino and birdlife.
Samburu is one of the lesser known game reserves of Kenya, but well
worth the visit. On the banks of a river, there is plenty of trees
and water to attract animals from far and wide. As with the rest of
Kenya, anywhere you find an abundance of animals, you will find
predators not too far behind.
The beauty of Samburu's lesser known reputation is the lack of
crowds making for a more intimate game experience than some other
parks offer.
Soaring mountain ranges give way to plummeting valleys as streams
cascade over waterfalls, making Aberdares National Park a landscape
lovers paradise. With over 250 species of bird, it is also a haven
for bird watching enthusiasts.
Located in the heart of Aberdares National Park, The Ark is known as
a "tree hotel", built on pylons in such a way as not to disturb the
animals around the waterhole. Its three decks provide superb vantage
points for game viewing around the floodlit waterhole.
SAMBURU/ L. NAKURU ( 4 DAYS)
DAY 1: NAIROBI/ SAMBURU
0730 hrs: Drive north via Mt. Kenya region past coffee plantations
to Samburu Game Reserve noted for the unique reticulated Giraffe,
Grevy's Zebra, Gerunuk and Somali ostrich. Arrive in the Lodge for
Lunch. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Lodge or Samburu sopa lodge.
DAY 2: SAMBURU
Another full day in Samburu Game Reserve with early morning and late
afternoon game viewing. Meals and overnight at Samburu Lodge.
DAY 3: SAMBURU- L.NAKURU
Leave after breakfast with game drive en route. Drive past the
northern tip of the Aberdare Mountains to descend into the Great
Rift Valley where L. Nakuru is located. Arrival will be in time for
lunch at the Flamingo Hill camp. Meals and overnight at the camp.
DAY 4: NAKURU- NAIROBI
After breakfast proceed for game drive in Nakuru National Park.
Lunch at 1200 hrs and depart for Nairobi arriving late afternoon.

- Transportation in a custom safari minibus with pop-up roof ideal
for game viewing and sightseeing
